This one is for my ladies!!

So I finally finished my huge cross stitch, although it may not seem huge to some.. the border alone took me a week. This piece means so much to me, not just because it is a feminist piece, but more on a personal level. I am not sure if any of you ladies have ever been in a situation where you have been with someone who just kept dragging you lower and lower everyday you spent with them.. but I have. And I felt trapped like I was drowning in quicksand. Being in a verbally abusive relationship is very difficult and can do massive damage to your self esteem along with how you view other relationships afterwards. About 3 years ago I dated a guy for nearly two years, and he treated me like complete shit. He talked down to me, even infront of his friends. It wasn't uncommon for his friends to stand up for me and defend me. In those two years I felt trapped but at the same time completely unwanted. He made me feel like the gum that was stuck on his shoe that he couldn't get off. But of course the minute I did leave him he begged me to stay, even got his mother involved. And after I left him he sent me a love letter telling me how he still loves me and how he misses me everyday.

So as a result to all the bullshit I decided to make something positive, something to show us women that we do not have to tolerate that at all! "Never let the hand you hold, hold you down." So this piece means more to me than anyone could ever imagine!

SOLD @Etsy Shop

okay now onto more fun and light stuff! I embroidered this cute little coin purse.. it looked sorta gothic to me with all the paisley, so I decided to add a skull pattern from Sublime Stitching!
For Sale @ Etsy Shop for $10

And I made this already cute and rather spacious cosmetics bag, even cuter!
For Sale @ Etsy Shop for $13

I tried to go with the color scheme of the bag already :)
Anyway that is what I have been working on this week! Fun stuff. The cross stitch took up most of my time but with such a positive statement I didn't mind at all!

Zombies, Pinups, Skateboarding, Dirty Cross stitch

Yea, I guess since I only do "popular" things I thought this week I would spice it up some.. But WARNING LALALAURREN, I will show the other item I sent in your package, so you may want to stop here til you get it.. If not you have been warned.. muhahhaa..

Okay first thing's first.. Zombies.. God who doesn't love zombies? If you don't don't answer that! Because I do.. George Romero is one of my favorite directors because of his cheesy zombie movies. Plus if you have never checked out Martin, it was one my favorite movies ever! It is not zombie related however, but vampire related.

I am going totally off the topic, but I guess I am getting personal here.. I mean I am a girl that loves zombies.. I do have a zombie tattoo.. you could consider me a zombie geek. So this is only my second time using like a tshirt fabric.. This one did not turn out as great as the Eve Tanktop, but reguardless I love it for the idea alone.. and the zombies! If you do hate zombies than you will love the back of this tshirt.

tshirt is a medium for $30 @ my shop

Now for the pinup.. which I think is my favorite thing to do ever! LaLaLaLaurren ordered something from me, the peeping tom piece.. well I decided it was wayyy too cool for another crafter to purchase something so expensive without throwing in something very awesome along with it. So I did her another Sailor Jerry style pinup.. this one not framed.. but with the same fabric, color and all. So I hope she gets them safely and loves them!

The next piece is so weird I had to buy them.. Plus if you know anything about me, you know I use to "attempt" at skateboarding.. That I grew up in the home of Jamie Thomas, if you don't know who that is just think Zero Skateboards.. I also spent my very wholesome youth hanging out with wholesome skateboarders, who'da thought those exist right? Nah, I am from Alabama.. there are the troubled youth and the good youth. I was part of the good youth, still am to an extent.

So when I saw that Sublime Stitching did some patterns with their local skateboarder Michael Sieben, outta Austin TX, I had to endulge myself.. And I can't wait to do some more of his art, because it is more art like than basic embroidery. DON'T get me wrong, I just bought some retro patterns and I am really excited to try them, but art is really cool adapted into another art form, embroidery.

18.00 @ my shop

Now for what is expected of me.. another dirty cross stitch. The bisexuals out there will appreciate this one! So one of all time favorite shows is Strangers with Candy. It should have never been canceled!! So that show is great, Amy Sedris and Steven Colbert were two of the creators and writers.. LOVE THEM BOTH! So this piece is kinda like a piece of my heart.. for real! So if you have never seen the show its about a 47 year-old recovering drug out who goes back to school, the same school she dropped out of to become a junkie whore. It really makes fun of shows like Saved by the Bell, which kill me if that is on.. it is just as bad as the Brady Bunch.. ugh! Stangers with Candy is very unpolitical correct, racist, sexual and brassy.. I love it but I do realize why it got canceled.

This piece is intitled " I like the pole and the hole" Notice the dried up flower.. kinda like Jerry Blank returning to high school.. haha

17.00 @ my shop

I have had one busy week, I hope you guys dig something.. let me know what you think!

::edit::

Thank you to Isewcute for adding some of my pieces in her treasury on etsy! Seriously, it is a honor to be recognized for my hard work, especially from a crafter I admire.
If you want to check it out http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=15443 it is one hot treasury!

Days off are the bee's knees

So I have been pretty productive the past few days! I have sent off my orders for etsy, even the two I sold yesterday.. Yippy! I also squeezed in two new pieces! I am starting to try new things with the Sublime Stitching patterns.. Last night I did my first onesie.. which was fun! I decided to use the Mitch O'Connell pattern "born bad." And I love the way it turned out! This was also the first time I used a stabilizer, and yes Brook I agree it probably shaved a good bit of time off the piece!

Both pieces are on my etsy store.. the snake is $13.00 and the onesie is $18.00!
I really liked the snake too.. I added some metallic thread in the sword and the green part in the snake.. the rest is normal thread.. I used felt and one of my hoop frames.. which I have had since Denver.. Wow!

Tattoo Flash Tote

I started this piece like two weeks ago.. I put it down after like an hour and didn't pick it up til yesterday. I think I was frustrated cause I didn't know what to put in the banner, but then I thought how ironic would it be if it said "fate" since it is a heart and dagger.. Once I put the letters on I loved it again! I put it on my etsy, since it is a tote I am asking $20.00
This piece is made with a Sublime Stitching pattern!

Weekly Resolutions!

- Finish making Jill's necklace
- Send Jill her package!
- Finish custom order from Etsy!
- Drop off Bliss's birthday gift!
- work, work, work
- This week I just want to try something new! This is my new goal, although I am not sure what it will be.

My weekly resolutions have been really lax lately.. sorry if they seem a bore. One of my best friends from high school, who I haven't seen since high school, bought somethings off my
Etsy shop. So I have decided to make her alittle something extra, because I really sort of miss her. Although we have definitely grown apart.. I think it is so strange how that can happen, but it seems to.. I am not sure if it is caues I have changed so much since then or if life just does.

This week is my friend Bliss's birthday. She has just gotten into embroidery and cross stitch.. so I had sneaky plan. I told her boyfriend to get her a starter kit at
Sublime Stitching, cause I don't know if it is me but when I was starting out it was very frustrating.. Although I started cross stitch many years back, it always made it more worth the trouble if it was a cool design. So he got her that, I got her a stylus and some carbon paper, and I am going to grab a crap load of thread for her. So I hope the presents combine will be pretty ultimate. I just want to encourage her, I let her borrow my Subversive Cross stitch Book, hoping it was also peek her interest! Yea, I pass on crafts like they are crack!

Work has been wearing me thin.. So I have pretty much come to the conclusion that I am just going to take out a student loan.. I am so tired of working in the food industry, and unfortunately having very visible tattoos.. my options are limited. But I am very ready to be doing something more relax and something I might actually enjoy.

I want to try something new this week.. Although I am not sure what I should do, but I think it is good to spice things up.. maybe I will knit a scarf. I mean it actually gets fairly cold up here, and I don't have a super cute one. Last year I knitted a very nice one for my mother, I really liked the way it turned out, I think I might do something similar.

Also I know it seems like I haven't been crafting much.. it is because I have been working a lot. And I am still turning away shifts it seems like everyday. I just can't be there doing doubles everyday.. six days in a row is a enough! Me and Lee went out last night with one of his friends.. he seems like a really cool guy, and it was nice to have someone stop by our place for once.

I did add this little piece to my
etsy shop!
It is only $7.00

Day of the Dead Skull

I loved this frame.. I just couldn't decide what in the hell I wanted to put in it. The more I thought about the color of the frame I decided that the Day of the Dead would work, and the skull was the only pattern that fit. hehe. So I picked the color scheme around the frame. I did the wavy outline in a split stitch, also included some satin stitching and french knots! oh how I love the french knots!!

For sale @ my shop for $13.00

Unicorns! Magic! Glitter!

$10 at my etsy store

This is one of the girliest pieces I have done, but it was fun.. Ever since I got the license with Sublime Stitching I just can't stop making stuff. It gives me an excuse to use their patterns :) I think this will be the last piece I do with metallic thread for alittle while.. it makes such a mess!

Every Ending is a New Beginning

Wow.. So I posted this on Etsy and ten minutes later it sold. I was shocked.

Metallic Floss Take OVER!!!

Seriously.. I rarely use lettering patterns and I know its because they are so frustrating.. Not that my handwriting is better, it so isn't.. but it is equally frustrating. So I decided to finally do my cosmetics bag. I have had it for months.. I was planning on using the make up patterns but then someone else did before I did.. So I was thinking I want something different and girly.. So I went with this.. and aside from the lettering I really dig it.

front side or back side depending on how you look at it.

It is for sale at my etsy for $6.00!!

I have added a ton of stuff to my etsy store. I got approved for a licensing agreement with Sublime Stitching so I can start selling my projects made with their patterns!!! I just wanted to share a few with you all. Remember the fairy I did from the craftpad? I found the most perfect frame for it while I was thrifting!

I thought it looked adorable with it :)
That is also for sale at my etsy store for $15.00.

Smokin' Tote

After making Sewphie that awesome tote..

I had to make one similar for myself.. I just couldn't resist.. But I chanaged it up with some different patterns..
Using the Mitch O'Connell pattern of the smokin hot girl.. and some cherries from the tattoo patterns! I used a lot of metallic floss on this one too, which I am not sure if it was a good idea or not.. but I couldn't resist. Any comments are welcomed.. let me know what you think!

Swap Stuff for Sewphie!

So I am trucking along with my weekly resolutions.. almost all done infact! I finished Sewphie's projects and I am really excited! I hope she likes them!!

favorite tote I have ever made! LOVE IT! I satin stitched the anchors completely. Then I wanted to keep the girl simple, so I just satined her eyes and lips. All in all this is one of my favorite pieces!

I know she loves pinups.. which made me want to do another. She got cut off alittle because I decided I wanted to add swallows. The swallows are metallic floss and so are the stars and spots.
I hope Sewphie loves these two things, because I sure do. Now I am offically all caught up! woohoo!!

Swaps and Yaps

So I have been crafting.. despite my not posting pictures. I finished two projects that I am swapping Brook! I was so pleased to finish them, now I just hope she will be pleased with them. Forgive me the frame has purple, but I avoided it in the pillowcase! Hope you like them, I will mail them asap!

The handwriting is my own, so it is not perfect! The sublime stitching font wouldn't fit in the banner.. sorry Brook.. but hey that makes it more personally I guess. :)

I also added alittle sprite to
My Etsy Store!

And I started on my other swap.. I am almost halfway through one piece, then I am going to do one more. I think I am only up for two projects to each swap. Especially since these are my first swaps ever! But I really hope both ladies are happy.

This week has been rather awesome. I have oragnized a Soprano night cause Lee has never seen them. It is so much fun getting together with friends, cooking a awesome dinner and then just enjoying each other's company. It has been a long time since I have felt welcome, it is really nice.

Bummer of the week! We were all planning on going to see the new Harry Potter movie for my bday.. but found out yesterday it got bumped back til July 09.. First they bump back Spiderman 4 til 11, and now this.. Sorry geek rant but it pisses me off.

Does anyone know of any good movies coming out?
