Weekly Resolutions!!

- Go see Watchmen
- Work a ton
- Craft a ton
- Acceptance

So I am super excited about Watchmen, I just started reading it but love it! I made plans with two of my best guy pals to go see it, now its just a matter of having the same time off of work..

Speaking of work, yea I am still working way too much.. Last week I decided to take two days off instead of my typical one day off of work. It was a great decision on my part, I was able to finish up another custom order and clean the house, get my oil changed and baked 3 dozen cookies!!
The past week and a half I have finished 4 custom orders, I haven't really been able to do what Katie wants to do.. This week I am hoping to creep back into that mode.. I started another cross stitch and I love the border, although it is taking forever! Here are two of the custom orders I did this week :)

Both parties picked everything from the design to the colors.. I just whipped them up for them! Thanks ladies!
Acceptance.. It has been a long hard road for me, realizing that people who I thought were my friends aren't.. The pain is always there, it never goes away and every time I think of them it literally makes me sick to my stomach.. But I am reaching a point where I accept people who reject me, from social gatherings, friendships, etc.. Knowing deep down that I am a good person and don't deserve the rejection, I am accepting people for the way they are and moving on.. I wish I knew an easier way to pass along but just remember, keep your chin up.. life is a rolllercoaster, and I ain't afraid of no rolliecoaster!

Weekly Resolutions!!

- Keep on trucking at work
- 2 More Custom Orders to go!
- Start redoing some old cross stitchings
- Must fit in Social Life
- Avoiding drama

So in the economy today I find it so important to have a stable income. I guess more so now than ever.. Single life can be a very fight or flight moment.. Sure sometimes I am puking and don't want to go into work, but yesterday I sucked it up and am really glad I did. After all it is the income that keeps me crafty!

This week I knocked out three custom orders, I will post pictures soon.. although two of them are just a wedding gift, nothing too fancy.. the other was a custom order on Etsy.

I know in the last blog I mentioned starting a line of cross stitchings that I would like to have available on my Etsy Store, but I have been so busy with custom orders I have had little time for tinkering of my own(and no I am so NOT complaining).

I have been making a real effort to have a "social life" which has been difficult with my scheduling, a lot of doubles kinda suck away at your free time. But I am happy to report that it is making a come back.. It saddens me that one of my close friends here is moving but at the same time I do not blame her at all!

Avoiding drama is always easier said than done.. It is always amusing when you are in a case of guys gone drama.. I find it amusing because women have the reputation of being catty and dramatic. The best way I know is to not react in the manner they are trying to get out of me. When they push my buttons and take it as encouragement to reach the next hurdle. So heres to hoping I don't pull a muscle before this is all over!

Weekly Resolutions!

- Working tons!

- Make time for friends and loved ones!

- Keep my cool under stressful situations!

- 2 Custom Orders to start!

- Finish the cross stitch I started last night!

- Keep being Katie!

So work has been working me a lot, I am not complaining.. however I haven't had much free time on my hands.. This only effects my social life and my craft life unfortunately, my two favorite things!

The hardest part about working full time and having friends that have complicating lives is making time for them and them making time for you. I look at the few friends I have, which again I am not complaining I would rather have a few great ones than a lot of bad ones. I have been making a more of an effort to make time from them, to be there for them. I read once that something about women spending time together can help with stress, which I have found to be true.. Nothing is more relaxing than a night out with the girls, and we all know laughter is the best medicine for anything and everything!

So this weekend has been insane at work, I often find myself in stressful situations at work and tend to lose my cool. I have been practicing maintaining my cool, something I haven't always been the greatest at. I tend to let things to get me, even the smallest comment can pick me apart til I pop! But this weekend I managed to keep my cool, with the coupons in the mail, valentines and presidents day.. I am pretty proud of myself!

A co-worker has commissioned me for two custom orders! I am so excited that my co-workers are awesome and so supportive. Honestly sometimes I look at my collection of cross stitchings, which are everywhere in my apartment, and think am I the only one who digs this stuff?! But apparently not! She asked me to do two pieces for two weddings, and they are quite different from what I would normally do. But this will give me great granny cross stitching practice!

I started another katie-cross-stitch last night though, and so far I think it maybe another favorite. I hope to finish it in the next few days and have it posted on my etsy shop!

I have found through all the maddness, drama, stress, life altering events, boyfriends, apartments.. that the one thing that keeps me grounded and together is me. Maybe I am the only one that forgets how reliable I am or how honest I can be.. but we all know it is so much harder to be honest with one's self.. This month I have been doing a lot of self growth and it has reached the point where I don't doubt myself so much, and I am happy with wherever I am at as long as I can just be me.. without apologies or excuses.. and NO I am not perfect, everyday I learn new things about myself but I want to better myself daily.. It is okay to aim for perfection, right?!

Weekly Resolutions!

- Work as much as possible
- Little PreValentine Plans
- See the Friday the 13th remake
- Continuing on a Positive Wave

So my list has become smaller and smaller, I guess that is part of the reason I haven't been posting Weekly Resolutions. That and I just got a computer for the first time in 2 months! Yep, 2 months away except for posting etsy listings.. It was a nice break, hehe.

I have been working as much as I possible can, which has been nice financially. But it doesn't leave much for spare time or a social life. But this week I have some plans and I am pretty excited. Me and a friend are going to see the new Friday the 13th movie, a remake by the same guy that redid Texas Chainsaw Massacre.. So I am pretty excited because I did enjoy that remake.

I have been super positive lately. When shit hit the fan in December I spoke with a friend about the whole situation.. His words really got me to thinking and it has really changed my views on a lot of things. I know whats in the past can't be fixed but I am growing from my mistakes. And staying positive about everything, even things I can't control.. trying to worry less.. keeping my mind and hands busy on things that make me smile. I am lucky to have friends that are there for me in hard times.

Weekly Resolutions!

- Finish making Jill's necklace
- Send Jill her package!
- Finish custom order from Etsy!
- Drop off Bliss's birthday gift!
- work, work, work
- This week I just want to try something new! This is my new goal, although I am not sure what it will be.

My weekly resolutions have been really lax lately.. sorry if they seem a bore. One of my best friends from high school, who I haven't seen since high school, bought somethings off my
Etsy shop. So I have decided to make her alittle something extra, because I really sort of miss her. Although we have definitely grown apart.. I think it is so strange how that can happen, but it seems to.. I am not sure if it is caues I have changed so much since then or if life just does.

This week is my friend Bliss's birthday. She has just gotten into embroidery and cross stitch.. so I had sneaky plan. I told her boyfriend to get her a starter kit at
Sublime Stitching, cause I don't know if it is me but when I was starting out it was very frustrating.. Although I started cross stitch many years back, it always made it more worth the trouble if it was a cool design. So he got her that, I got her a stylus and some carbon paper, and I am going to grab a crap load of thread for her. So I hope the presents combine will be pretty ultimate. I just want to encourage her, I let her borrow my Subversive Cross stitch Book, hoping it was also peek her interest! Yea, I pass on crafts like they are crack!

Work has been wearing me thin.. So I have pretty much come to the conclusion that I am just going to take out a student loan.. I am so tired of working in the food industry, and unfortunately having very visible tattoos.. my options are limited. But I am very ready to be doing something more relax and something I might actually enjoy.

I want to try something new this week.. Although I am not sure what I should do, but I think it is good to spice things up.. maybe I will knit a scarf. I mean it actually gets fairly cold up here, and I don't have a super cute one. Last year I knitted a very nice one for my mother, I really liked the way it turned out, I think I might do something similar.

Also I know it seems like I haven't been crafting much.. it is because I have been working a lot. And I am still turning away shifts it seems like everyday. I just can't be there doing doubles everyday.. six days in a row is a enough! Me and Lee went out last night with one of his friends.. he seems like a really cool guy, and it was nice to have someone stop by our place for once.

I did add this little piece to my
etsy shop!
It is only $7.00

Weekly Resolutions

- Mail Sewphie's Pacakge
- Work on controlling my temper, or it will control me
- Craft Night with The Crafty Cunts
- Work on new pieces for Etsy

So I'm not trying gloat but.. Apparently there are 3 of my latest post that are on the front page of craftster.org under HOT NEW PROJECTS FROM ALL CATEGORIES ! Which has never in my life happened before.. 3!!!

Okay so this past week has been one that I have accomplished so much in.. The last week and a half I sold 5 items on my etsy shop.. and finished up 2 swaps! Man busy bee.. Not to mention I did a few new projects for my etsy shop.

I got a message from the girl I sold the kirby piece to. I sent her a message last night asking if she recieved it.. She wrote back saying yes, she was planning on giving it to someone for a bday present but when she got it she couldn't wait.. She said she went ahead and gave it to him for desk at work and he was very very happy! That made me so happy.. I am so glad I can do a piece, big or small, and it bring joy to someone else.

I got a message from one of my good friends in Mobile, Alabama this week as well. He is one of my old tattoo artists! He was just messaging me to say he missed me and see what I have been up to. He is out of work at the moment with a fucked up back.. Hope you feel better soon CW. I still want another piece from him.. It is nice to know that if I am back in Mobile that I have friends that want to see me.

All in all this is one positive blog entry.. Now I must go get ready for tonight! Soprano's night with Italian food and some pretty amazing friends.

Weekly Resolutions!

- Start on project(s) for Brook!
- Figure out what I am going to make for Sewphie!
- Craft Night Monday! (make rice crispy treats!)
- Tattoo Appt on Tuesday night!!!!!!!
- Continue to try to better myself daily.. No one is perfect!
- Continue going to work in a good mood.
- Love everyday like it might be my last, because honestly it very well could be!

So usually I post this on Sunday.. Sunday is the end of my week usually so I like posting my resolutions at the beginning of the next week.

This past week has been insane.. One of my online friends lost someone that was once dear to her and was the father of her child. I feel helpless because I don't know what to say.. all I can get out of this is.. wake up! life is short! don't waste any time on something that isn't important.. for all you know the last 30 minutes could be your last 30 minutes ever! If you feel you should say something don't bottle it up, don't ignore the urges.. It could very well be just as important to the person you want to say it to.

I have been spending a lot of time with my new friends. I haven't lived in this area for too long, a year.. It was a hard transition and now I am feeling at home and wanted. It is a really great feeling! And our craft nights are the best! We have named ourselves the Crafty Cunts! Or the Crafty Cupcakes to our grandmothers.. haha. It has been so long since anywhere felt like a home that was welcoming and accepting. Its usually judgemental.. I am really thankful for this change of pace!

Work has been no different, but I have been managing to not let things get to me so much. It has been a great relief. But they still tried to call me in tonight.. caller id best invention ever!

Tonight I went to a party.. it was fun! I got to see some amazing people, which whom I have been hanging out every weekend with for the past month.. month and a half. It is like when you are a kid and you have that group of friends that is like family!

All in all I guess I should have titled this post friendship.. because it has really been the only thing that has snapped me to my senses.. that and started reading a lot of inspirational things. I just hope that everyone knows that life is short.. and we should love one another instead of hating and being spiteful and judgemental. I don't want my last second to be spent hating or regretting. Hope you all have a wonderful night!
