Weekly Resolutions!!

- Go see Watchmen
- Work a ton
- Craft a ton
- Acceptance

So I am super excited about Watchmen, I just started reading it but love it! I made plans with two of my best guy pals to go see it, now its just a matter of having the same time off of work..

Speaking of work, yea I am still working way too much.. Last week I decided to take two days off instead of my typical one day off of work. It was a great decision on my part, I was able to finish up another custom order and clean the house, get my oil changed and baked 3 dozen cookies!!
The past week and a half I have finished 4 custom orders, I haven't really been able to do what Katie wants to do.. This week I am hoping to creep back into that mode.. I started another cross stitch and I love the border, although it is taking forever! Here are two of the custom orders I did this week :)

Both parties picked everything from the design to the colors.. I just whipped them up for them! Thanks ladies!
Acceptance.. It has been a long hard road for me, realizing that people who I thought were my friends aren't.. The pain is always there, it never goes away and every time I think of them it literally makes me sick to my stomach.. But I am reaching a point where I accept people who reject me, from social gatherings, friendships, etc.. Knowing deep down that I am a good person and don't deserve the rejection, I am accepting people for the way they are and moving on.. I wish I knew an easier way to pass along but just remember, keep your chin up.. life is a rolllercoaster, and I ain't afraid of no rolliecoaster!

Weekly Resolutions!!

- Keep on trucking at work
- 2 More Custom Orders to go!
- Start redoing some old cross stitchings
- Must fit in Social Life
- Avoiding drama

So in the economy today I find it so important to have a stable income. I guess more so now than ever.. Single life can be a very fight or flight moment.. Sure sometimes I am puking and don't want to go into work, but yesterday I sucked it up and am really glad I did. After all it is the income that keeps me crafty!

This week I knocked out three custom orders, I will post pictures soon.. although two of them are just a wedding gift, nothing too fancy.. the other was a custom order on Etsy.

I know in the last blog I mentioned starting a line of cross stitchings that I would like to have available on my Etsy Store, but I have been so busy with custom orders I have had little time for tinkering of my own(and no I am so NOT complaining).

I have been making a real effort to have a "social life" which has been difficult with my scheduling, a lot of doubles kinda suck away at your free time. But I am happy to report that it is making a come back.. It saddens me that one of my close friends here is moving but at the same time I do not blame her at all!

Avoiding drama is always easier said than done.. It is always amusing when you are in a case of guys gone drama.. I find it amusing because women have the reputation of being catty and dramatic. The best way I know is to not react in the manner they are trying to get out of me. When they push my buttons and take it as encouragement to reach the next hurdle. So heres to hoping I don't pull a muscle before this is all over!

Weekly Resolutions!!

- Finish up custom orders

- Work tons more

- Continue making time for loved ones

- Practicing patience

- Loving those who hate

So I finished up one custom order out of the four.. And this was the biggest piece! yay! I am getting faster at all of this. It is just a simple cross stitch with the last name of the couple and they date they are getting married.. I have been commissioned to do two of these so far, she said she may have two more for me by the summer. So I am pretty excited. Plus she wants me to do two little "bless this house" type cross stitchings, not my normal style but I do customed orders for anything and anyone, especially when its a friend I work with.. I am sure I will cut her a deal since there are so many projects.

Speaking of projects I have decided, after given advice from Jamie(MrXStitch) that I should kinda make my own line of cross stitchings with different styles.. I dig this idea, infact I dig it so much I already started doing it! I redid the "Protect Me, Satan" for my shop and I will continue doing this.. I want to keep certain items always stocked.. So if you have any suggestions from my past projects, please let me know.. Feedback is always appreciated!

I am becoming a workaholic I think.. This past week I managed to have two days off and I enjoyed them! This week I am going to be working like 10 shifts, so I will be busy.. but will be making money!!

Making time for loved ones can be challenging when you work so much and then work on crafting in my down time.. I am trying to find the balance between those things and a social life, haha. So far it isn't working too well! hehe

But that brings me to my next resolution, practice patience.. No Katie, you can't have everything you want now.. but it is nice to dream :)

And lastly, loving those who hate you.. ahhh it says it all really. Learning how to get over things, let it go and move on.. sign me up! I am there! I can honestly say I do not hate anyone, I honestly have nothing but love in my heart and it is a wonderful feeling. Infact, I encourage you to bury the hatchet, embrace a lost loved one, or just say fuck it and accept the things you can't change and love life reguardless.

Weekly Resolutions!

- Work as much as possible
- Little PreValentine Plans
- See the Friday the 13th remake
- Continuing on a Positive Wave

So my list has become smaller and smaller, I guess that is part of the reason I haven't been posting Weekly Resolutions. That and I just got a computer for the first time in 2 months! Yep, 2 months away except for posting etsy listings.. It was a nice break, hehe.

I have been working as much as I possible can, which has been nice financially. But it doesn't leave much for spare time or a social life. But this week I have some plans and I am pretty excited. Me and a friend are going to see the new Friday the 13th movie, a remake by the same guy that redid Texas Chainsaw Massacre.. So I am pretty excited because I did enjoy that remake.

I have been super positive lately. When shit hit the fan in December I spoke with a friend about the whole situation.. His words really got me to thinking and it has really changed my views on a lot of things. I know whats in the past can't be fixed but I am growing from my mistakes. And staying positive about everything, even things I can't control.. trying to worry less.. keeping my mind and hands busy on things that make me smile. I am lucky to have friends that are there for me in hard times.

Weekly Resolutions

- Start on Custom Order Scarf

- Finish up Custom Order Cross stitch

- Work, work, work

- Lee and I's One Year Anniversary!

- Try relaxing

So just so you know I am not a total slacker.. yea yea you were thinking it! I have been very busy lately. This weekend alone, i sold four pieces.. One wasn't even through Etsy, which makes me happy :)

But here is what I have been working on..

$25.00 for both @
My Etsy Shop
$18.00 @ My Etsy Shop

I also finished up the Custom piece for Amanda.. I liked the way it turned out, I let her decide if she wanted cursive or regular cross stitch.. I think if left to my own devices I would have picked almost like an old english, but maybe I am just a fan of that font.. hehe.. She said she wanted cursive, so I found a pretty one that I didn't think looked too difficult to read. She is giving this to her boyfriend/fiance and I think it is sweet.. ha. The frame is beautiful in person, it is made out of stone or something, really heavy and really pretty cause it is all carved. I hope she likes it!

I tried to pick a border that matched the framing.. I think I did a fairly good job. I just hope she likes it!
I have two custom orders left on my list, woot! One is for a previous customer, who came back because she loved the other pieces she has.. always nice to have returning customers, I LOVE IT! So she tells me her 15 year old soon isn't allowed to say fuck.. so he says, "what the vulk!?" which I just assumed was a star trek reference, ha. But anyway, I am starting a fairly nice size on that piece. She hasn't been incredibly picky.. so this allows me to show off some, I hope. I am working on a impressive border, if I do say so myself. The other order is a scarf, which I am looking forward to knitting some. This is also from a returning customer as well.
I have been working a lot, things always get stressful around the holidays.. I have to learn how to turn the mind off when I am not there and relax some... or I may just lose my mind :)

Weekly Resolutions

-Finish Amanda's Custom Order!!

-Work on a Custom Order, a scarf!

-Work, work, work!!!

-Resend out my student aid stuff!

I finished one custom order but don't have pictures because it is basically just like another piece I have done before. I started on Amanda's and I am almost finished with the border, which is intense.. LOVE IT! I have also been asked to make a scarf for a friend and I think I will be able to squeeze that in once I finish Amanda's piece..

The only thing holding me back from my projects are work.. yea I am working tons!! I worked six days this week, and next week I have an open to close shift just to come back the next day.. ugh. I hate the holidays!!

I finally figured out all my student aid stuff and I am sending it out Monday so maybe I can continue my college education starting this summer! Fun Times!! haha.

Weekly Resolutions

- Work on Custom Order for Amanda!

- Work on Custom Order with pin ups!

- Work, work, work at my real job.

- Let go!

- Spend less time on the internet!

So I finally found a frame for the piece I am going to do for Lee's friend Amanda! It is so beautiful!! Now I am just waiting on some booklets to come in the mail to actually start.. New borders and alphabets will be used and I can't wait to look through them and make it really really special!

I am still waiting on a order of tea towels to start on my other custom order, which is the reform school girl piece. The lady messaged me though and said her husband wants me to do some pieces for him as well, I am more than willing!!!

So the boss that I have hated since day one finally got fired, he has only been working for the company for like six years.. So now I am hoping to get more hours at work, which means more money! And maybe even vacation time? If I can squeeze in enough hours before the end of the year!

Talked to one of my ex's today.. and it was so weird.. it reminded me of what it was like to date him.. and it really made me sad. I guess I am just realizing that there maybe somethings I regret in my past, but all in all they happened for a reason..

Last but not least, I want to spend less time online!

Here is my newest piece.. which I love because it is an Arrested Development quote!$17.00 @ My Etsy Shop

Weekly Resolutions

- Craft Night with The Crafty Cunts
- Enjoy the less hours at work
- Continue to keep on the positive path
- Embrace change
- Craft, craft, craft
- Start on custom order for Amanda

So we are planning another amazing craft night, so excited to see the ladies.. spend time with them goofing off. We always have so much fun when we get together.

I have asked work to cut back my hours alittle, so I will be making less money.. but it is giving me time to reflect. Unfortunately I haven't spent hours crafting, just hours with "me" time, which has been so nice. Well Lee is definitely getting a lot of time too!

The past week I have decided to attack life at a different angle, stop some bad habits and continue my day to day with a much more positive attitude. I think it is working! I have had a really good week, despite someone's attempt at making me upset. Yea if you didn't hear someone reported my pin ups not only to photobucket but also myspace. I think it is really silly someone would go to such lengths to try to get to me.. but it isn't working. I just laughed it off!

Embracing change everyday! I have made a lot of changes in my life in the past week. I want to continue this because it is making me a stronger person! Not only is my attitude better but I feel more myself than I have in a very long time.

So I finally finished up my custom tea towels but now I must finish up this cross stitch I have been working on for a while. The border is huge, but I picked it because I really liked it, so suck it up Katie! It will be one of my favorite pieces once I am finished, I am sure!

Lee's friend Amanda asked me to do a custom piece for her boyfriend.. haha she refers to him as her husband basically.. She doesn't believe in marriage so they probably will never marry but they will be together forever. I mention this because the custom order is kinda her take on vows. I can't wait to do it, it should be hilarious!

Weekly Resolutions

- Etsy SALE!!! ( I have reduced prices due to the fact that xmas is right around the corner!!)
- Work on Katie
- Work
- Finish up custom order

I am not doing a long resolution this week.. I have just had a wake up call this past weekend and I am have to re-evaluate my situation in my life.. I am going to be working on a lot of personal demons and work on bettering my relationship with people. I am not going to go into anymore detail because why ruin a fun craft blog with that crap.

I am starting an Etsy Sale for xmas.. http://katiekutthroat.etsy.com/ Please remember I also take custom orders and have no problem working with ideas, infact I love it. I have to finish up a custom order this week and get it out.. I am almost half way finished! It will be 3 tea towels all pin up themed! Which will be a blast!

I tried to put in my notice at work last week.. then they called asking if there was anyway to keep me there. I asked for more night shifts and less morning shifts, as the night shifts are longer, so that will take away from craft time but will bring in some more money. hooray!

I am sorry this is probably the most boring weekly resolutions, I almost didn't post it, but I wanted you all to know I have disappeared.. just been sick to my stomach!

- Continue to not get frustrated on work
- Craft, craft, craft.. like always
- Continue to try new things!!
- Try to get sewing machine table this week?
- Work, work, work
- Mail out the order for Etsy
- Try new things!!

So I don't have much to do this week really.. I am uncertain to what my schedule will be like after Tuesday.. Yea, work has been really lame about posting the schedule.. it is absurd! I am going to continue doing my crafts in my free time and hopefully spend some time with the boy. The etsy store is doing alright.. I am getting lots of hearts but not a ton of purchases, although I am glad to get what I do. I need to continue trying new things, because I want to offer a awesome selection. I just get so discouraged sometimes.. I just finished a new cross stitch piece.. it is for sale at my etsy store.
It is $15.00

Weekly Resolutions

- DON'T QUIT YOUR JOB

- Work on my scarf
- Craft night with the Crafty Cunts
- Mail Jill's package
- Mail the custom order for Etsy
- Set up my sewing machine
- Enjoy my days off.. relax..
- Give thanks daily for the amazing people I do have in my life..
- Appreciate the cooler weather!

So I hate my job.. it is nothing special.. I work in a kitchen. I wouldn't hate it so much but I hate my boss. Our general manager.. which whom I work with more than I don't. I guess thats why it has been rubbing me so wrong. I just need to keep this job until I am finished with school.

I started a scarf like a week ago, or so.. and I have been putting it off, like whoa! Tonight we are all getting together and having a craft night and watching heroes! yes the crafty cunts love heroes!

I finally heard from the girl I did the custom order for, snitches get stitches, and she loves it.. So she bought it, which made me happy! So I have to send that out, along with Jill's.. I added Jill some extra things, so it is going out later than I had planned. My etsy store isn't doing amazing.. if it weren't for my friends I wouldn't be selling anything. It is crazy though cause since I got the agreement with Sublime Stitching I have only sold one of their pieces.. I am still selling the most out of original designs or little phrases.. which is kinda cool!

Tomorrow my friend is dropping off a vintage sewing machine table.. She said it may need to be refinished, so thats a new project! I am super excited to get it though. Now I can set up my sewing machine and maybe actually use it?! Get out!! It will fill out the craft room too! I should probably clean it tonight but I think I will do that tomorrow.

I have only been getting like one day off lately.. and working doubles.. and closing just to turn around and open the next morning. yea it has been killing me! I just need to enjoy the few I have off.. spend them loving my boyfriend and friends.. and enjoying this lovely change in the weather. It isn't suppose to get over 85 for the next two weeks.. So happy! :)

I just bought a boob off etsy.com! I am so excited, hehe.. ok so it is a crochet boob.. and the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. I just wanted to share this awesome piece and this awesome seller, goaskmalice!

A Non-Craft Post

I have been a giggle box all day! Work is always work but it is nice when you can joke around a lot.. makes the day go by faster. This morning when I opened the door for two of our cooks to come in, one was singing shake that laffytaffy.. I went up to her and said, what exactly is a laffytaffy.. I mean I know what I have been told what it is.. she laughed.. but how does one shake it? she burst into laughter.. and she said I don't know. Keep in mind this is a 50 year old black lady.. haha.. Then I told her the only way mine shakes is with a finger, toy or tongue.. and I think she almost pissed herself!
