So as a result to all the bullshit I decided to make something positive, something to show us women that we do not have to tolerate that at all! "Never let the hand you hold, hold you down." So this piece means more to me than anyone could ever imagine!
okay now onto more fun and light stuff! I embroidered this cute little coin purse.. it looked sorta gothic to me with all the paisley, so I decided to add a skull pattern from Sublime Stitching!
For Sale @ Etsy Shop for $10And I made this already cute and rather spacious cosmetics bag, even cuter!
I tried to go with the color scheme of the bag already :)
Anyway that is what I have been working on this week! Fun stuff. The cross stitch took up most of my time but with such a positive statement I didn't mind at all!

lolol I really like how your comment box says "what is on your mind suga?" Inspiring story... I'm glad you made it as creative force and the piece you stitch is great. I really love the message! I also like the other stitching you did on those cute little bags! =D
i'm so glad to finally see the finsehed product after hearing about it all week. i thinnk its a great message and it really hits home for me. great work!
meekiyu.. heh thanks i try to be cute/clever :) i am glad that my story was inspiring to you, it is amazing the strength we have within ourselves as women. thank you so much
jaded.. this is exactly what i was hoping for! i know a lot of women tolerate more than they ever should, i don't know if society does it or if it is our own self esteem, but reguardless we deserve better and honestly we are stronger than men will ever give us credit for.. i am always here if you need to talk. us cutthroats have to stick together :)
What great pieces! I love the border you picked out :) Great job!
thank you bliss.. you saw what a labor of love this pieces was.. haha :)
i like that a lot. lots of positive vibes on your page. :D
Props to you, hon, for getting out of a shitty situation, and for creating such a beautiful and self-empowering cross stitch to remind you of what you've come out of. This seriously rocks, and the border is lovely. :)
corey.. yes a new outlook on life.. and not letting things in my past hold me down anymore!
Sherezada yes it was such a shitty situation/relationship.. everyday he would say or do something that was completely out of line.. throwing things at me, leaving bruises all over my arms, throwing me around.. he was a ball of negativity. and i am so glad i am out of it and can use that to do something positive and it actually make others relate and feel better about themselves as well. i am very proud of this project :)
jamie.. first off thank you so much, means so much coming from you.. secondly i don't use anything when i do cross stitchings.. i just hold it with my hands.. haha sometimes they get wrinkly but i just iron them out :)
Katie, a great piece and kudos to you for getting out of that relationship!
Sometimes I think we're our own worst enemies!
I got out too and I feel so much better for it!
(I am in a very good place now though!!)
yay! kudos for the both of us. i know a lot of women feel like they can't get out but you always can! i feel a lot better then too. while i was with him i had to be on so many meds because i was constantly depressed. i am in a better place now and going through therapy for all the negativity i went through with him and other situations in my life. and everyday i feel more and more thankful for the decisions i have made and where i am now!
yay for us!
Wow, that's an excellent stitch. Really strong topic and beautifully done. That border is beautiful - but a pain, too, right? :)
thank you so much bridget.. compliments from you make me smile because i always adore your cross stitchings. and yes awesomely strong message that all women need to hear and know! the border was one of the borders from the same designer than you said you used before, different booklet though.. yes a pain but so pretty. the flowers reminded me of the flower power in super mario brothers. hehe
aw-- they are all super. love the mascara brush :)
thank you so much :)
awesome, thanks for sharing such a personal story. i hope you'll keep that piece and feel strong and happy every time you look at it. i was sorta in a simliar situation once, feeling i wasn't worth a darn, afraid to leave, afraid to stay, isn't it fantabulous that we are in such a better place now?
bethie.. god yes.. it is such a better feeling to be where i am now than to be someone's doormat. everytime i tried to leave he would beg me to stay.. i will never forget everytime i should have left and just ignored him.. but i thought i loved him, and for a second i thought he loved me. but then i found out he was sneaking around behind my back hanging out with some other girl. when i found that out, from one of his friends of all people, i knew it was time for me to leave.
as far as keeping it, i have put it on my etsy store.. the price is high so i am kinda hoping it won't sell. i really just like to use it a source of reference for buyers that i can do somethings similar to that.. because i love doing custom orders.
we are both lucky, you and i, to be in better places, and we should rejoice daily for being free from such negativity :)
thank you so much lady!
KKT, yes we are both lucky. Even when I was single, before I met my hubby, I was just so happy to be free and on my own.
And I try really hard to remember to say a little prayer each night thanking G-d for letting me lay down next to my wonderful man and a big ol dog! I thank Him for other things too ;)
You are such a strong woman, or at least from what I gather from your online personality ;) It would be really cool if your xstitch sold on etsy because in a way you would be giving strength to someone else who needed the daily reminder. And what rocks more than inspiratonal art?!
i totally agree and i hope that is the case. because strength can be passed on to person to person.. and sometimes other people need that, i know at times i have needed that.
congrats on the husband and dog.. hha right now i have neither. but i would love a puppy!
ya it sold tonight!!!
KKT, yes I totally agree strength can be passed from person to person and I am pleased your stitchy art piece sold! I'm sure it will be motivational to its new owner, so awesome!
Puppies are A LOT of work, but totally worth it after they are pottied trained ;) I <3 my big dog, he's 75 pounds of love, and he's 6 years old. I had him a year before I met my hubby so he was part of the package deal ;)
awwww you should post pics!
Katie that piece has a great sentiment that I'm sure many of us can relate to - congrats on the sale. Glad to hear you are in a happier place now x
thank you sweetpea.. your kind words always mean a lot to me. you are definitely one of my fav craftster girls :)
